Why have you continued to return to this internship?"I have continued to return to this internship because I love being a part of STAR. Every quarter I learn more about myself as well as get to challenge myself in new areas of my life. The bond between STAR members is special because we understand that we all have a passion for helping people make informed decisions in different areas of their lives. " – Marilyn Stigall, 6th quarter in STAR, Ed 191B student summer 2005 What was the best part of education 191B?"The best part of ED191B was Maka and Ashley. Maka showed an amazing passion for his work and his students. He created a comfortable environment and creative lesson plans that I enjoyed immensely. Ashley was such a dedicated TA and was very welcoming to everyone in the class. It gave me a great sense of security and appreciation to know she was there at anytime for all her students. " – Shane Weafer, 1st quarter in STAR, Ed 191B student winter 2007 What did Ed 191B teach you?"Ed 191B not only taught me to practice moderate and responsible drinking and drug use, but it also taught me health and life skills. I learned so much about how to better communicate with others and how to help others. Ed 191B was truly an amazing class and I was able to meet a lot of other cool people. " – Melanie Yuen, 1st quarter in STAR, Ed 191B student winter 2007 "Jackie Kurta is really helpful, understanding and completely confidential. I enjoyed talking to her because I didn’t feel like I was being judged. Jackie knows what she's talking about and when you're ready for help she's there to guide you in the right direction.
