Environmental strategies are activities that physically change the environment. It involves going out into the community and making a change that can increase healthy behavior.

For example, the Sex and Relationship Interns conduct "Condom Alerts" throughout the year. This is where interns take a nighttime walk down the famed Del Playa scene while passing out free condoms and instructions for use. During the Condom Alert, interns are sensitive to those who decline condoms, while at the same time showing willingness to discuss related matters. This strategy brings health protection directly to the students living in Isla Vista. Last year, an estimated 20,000 condoms were passed out during this 20 minute event.
