When students come to see me for individual appointments, they don't typically have a straightforward question they want to ask. What we do is go through what is going on for them personally and figure out some possible explanations specific to them, and then explore some options they could use to deal with their situation. FAQ from women"Is it normal to have pain with vaginal intercourse?"No.If you are having pain, you should seek out a medical professional to evaluate the situation. Some women can have discomfort with their first vaginal intercourse experience, but this is usually minor. This is not the same as pain.FAQ from men"I sometimes lose my erection, is there something wrong with me?"No, there is nothing wrong with you. From time to time, a man can either lose his erection, or to be unable to obtain one. This is very common. There are many reasons why this could happen: fatigue, alcohol or other substance use, anxiety with a new partner, etc. If trouble getting or maintaining an erection becomes the norm for you, you should consider getting evaluated by a medical professional. |
